BMW Australia to offer restorations of classic models

Owners of classic BMWs in Australia now have the opportunity to get their cherished models restored by the German carmaker through a new program.

There are currently 151 BMW Classic centres globally, providing restoration and servicing assistance to owners of its older vehicles with support from the brand.

This program will now be available in Australia, with staff at the Worthington BMW dealership on the New South Wales Central Coast being provided technical training from experts in Munich.

BMW Classic will over time be expanded across the marque’s 48-strong Australian dealer network, though the brand is yet to announce where its next restoration centre will be.

“BMW’s heritage dates back 108 years [and] is extremely important to our brand,” said Wolfgang Buechel, BMW Group Australia CEO.

“The introduction of BMW Classic service has been successfully offered at our BMW Group Classic department in Munich for many years.

“With a vibrant community of classic BMW enthusiasts in Australia, including 15 BMW Clubs nationwide that have over 5000 members, this service will be a one-stop shop for customers who want to restore or maintain their classic BMWs in top condition, ensuring that they continue to enjoy the brand’s Sheer Driving Pleasure.”

BMW Worthington will display eight classic models at its showroom to mark the launch of the Classic program.
